Tequila Sunrise – an Easy Cocktail Recipe
Tequila Sunrise is colourful and easy to make with only 3 ingredients that don’t need mixing or shaking, resulting in clear drink layers. Grenadine sinks to the bottom of the glass after carefully pouring over the orange juice and tequila.
This sunrise in a glass is refreshingly fruity and originates in the early 1970’s from Sausalito, California. The very first version was made with crème de cassis and lime juice but as time evolves, so do cocktails and the current version of tequila sunrise got popular after Mick Jagger and the crew from the Rolling Stones discovered it and started ordering it during the stops of their 1972 tour.
You don’t need to be a rockstar and you don’t need special skills. Just remember to pour the grenadine last and don’t stir to keep the vibrant layers!
