It simply makes us happy when mangos are in season. It’s one of our favourite fruits ever since we’ve lived in Asia.
Lassi is a smoothie made with yoghurt that originated in India. Add water, spices, some fruit et voilà a healthy breakfast ready in minutes! The Indians have lassi to compliment spicy food which means you can have it all day long.
Choose your favourite Greek yoghurt, low-fat or full fat and add any fruit of your choice. Fresh, frozen or canned can be used, whatever is most handy, but make sure to taste before you use the fruit so you can decide the amount of sweetness that needs to be added. Make it your own and diversify your breakfast tomorrow; you probably already have the necessary ingredients at home for this popular drink.
- 150 gr diced fresh mango
- 100 gr plain non-fat yogurt
- 1 tbsp of honey
- 1 Pinch of cinnamon or cardamom optional
- Blend the yoghurt with the mango and the ice to a smooth purée.
- Serve in a fancy glass.
- You can also use frozen mango to make a frozen mango lassi.
