“Seven-pepper spice” would be a good translation if the Togarashi Shichimi is too difficult to pronounce.
Sauté pan with lid
- 2 tbsp hot chili powder
- 1 tbsp dried orange peel
- 2 tsp white sesame seeds
- 2 tsp Szechuan pepper
- 1 tsp ginger powder
- ½ tsp poppy seeds
- 1 tbsp toasted nori sheet
Toast the sesame, Szechuan and poppy seeds.
Add the other ingredients and toast shortly
When the toasted spices are cold, coarsely grind all ingredients together.
Keep in an airtight container.
