Air Fried Jerusalem Artichoke Chips
Jerusalem artichoke is also referred to as topinambur, earth apple, sunroot, and sunchoke. Despite one of its names, the Jerusalem artichoke does not originate from Jerusalem, and it is also not a type of artichoke. These tubulars are the roots from a species of sunflower, native to Central America.

These chips are the perfect healthy snack or side dish and considered microbiome superfoods due to potassium, iron, vitamin C and protein content. Jerusalem artichoke chips or crisps are easy and quick to prepare. There is no need to peel if you wash and brush them correctly.

Air Fried Jerusalem Artichoke Chips
Ingredients
- 6-8 pc jerusalem artichoke topinambour
- Sea salt
- Rosemary leaves optional
Instructions
- Use a soft brush to wash and clean the Jerusalem artichokes and break them into smaller knobs if necessary. Slice the Jerusalem artichoke into thin slices.
- Bake the slices at 190°C in multiple small batches in the air fryer for perfect crispiness. If needed, coat the slices with a little oil to prevent oxidation.
- Add the fresh rosemary leaves 4-5 minutes before the cooking time is over. Sprinkle some sea salt and serve
