Fosa Intelligent Vacuum Food Storage Containers
We recently received a free sample of the Fosa Smart Turtle Vacuum Set to try and test, and we’re excited to share our honest review of these food storage containers with you!
Why Reducing Food Waste Matters
Did you know that one-third of all food produced worldwide—about 1.3 billion tons per year—ends up in the trash? That’s not just wasted food; it’s nearly $1 trillion down the drain every year.
Beyond the financial cost, food waste has a huge environmental impact on our planet. It’s responsible for 8-10% of global greenhouse gas emissions, and growing food that never gets eaten wastes 25% of the world’s freshwater. If food waste were a country, it would be the third-largest polluter, right behind the U.S. and China.
How We Try to Waste Less
As a family, we’re always looking for ways to reduce food waste, save money, and make the most of our groceries. One simple solution? Better food storage!
When food stays fresher for longer, there’s less waste—and that’s where the Fosa Smart Turtle Vacuum Set comes in. This gadget promises to extend the shelf life of fresh food, helping families like ours keep fruits, veggies, and leftovers from spoiling too soon.
We have put it to the test and share our full review!
This is a sponsored post, as we received the product absolutely free. However, all opinions and observations are our own, made from testing the vacuum set ourselves.

Our Personal Experience and Thoughts
Design
The design is sleek, modern and available in round or rectangular shapes. The canisters come in various sizes for storing different quantities of food. They are also stackable and compact. This space-saving design helps to keep your kitchen cabinets and fridge neat and organised.
The Fosa Turtle Pump System
The vacuum pump is cordless which makes it easy and convenient to use. Simply place the pump on the lid of the containers and push the button to activate the vacuum system. The pump stops automatically on its own once the perfect seal is achieved – no guesswork required!

Versatility and Efficiency
The Turtle pump is compatible with all Fosa containers as well as other Fosa storage solutions like glass jugs and vacuum-seal bags. While we haven’t personally tested it on these additional products, its strong, reliable performance on the containers gives us confidence that it will be just as efficient and effective across the entire range.
Cleaning and maintenance
The containers are dishwasher safe but the lids and the pump should only be cleaned with a (soft) damp cloth and then dried with a cloth.
Take out the batteries when the Turtle is not in use for a long period of time.
The Things We Tested
Berries
Fresh raspberries are a true delight—but as we all know, they don’t stay that way for long. To put storage methods to the test, we split a batch of berries in two: one half went into a standard plastic container, while the other half was sealed in a Fosa vacuum container.

After just 2 days, the berries in the regular container began showing signs of mold, which became visible by day 4. In contrast, the raspberries stored in the Fosa container remained flawless—fresh, flavourful, and ready to enjoy. We left them for 2 more days, and they were still fresh and edible.
Marinade
Fosa claims that their vacuum containers speed up the marinating process compared to regular storage methods—and we put that to the test. While we use vacuum-sealed plastic bags for marinating in our restaurant, this time we tried it with chicken in the Fosa container. The results were impressive.
Not only was the chicken fully marinated and ready to cook in just two hours, but using the container was far more convenient than dealing with vacuum machines and special bags. The end result was a flavourful, tender dish—though we’ll admit our marinade recipe deserves some credit too.
Fresh Vegetables
What works for fresh fruit usually works great for fresh veggies too. We love our salads, and fresh lettuce stays crisp much longer in these special vacuum containers. Just go for the larger sizes—lettuce keeps better when it has room to breathe and doesn’t get squished.
Cooked Vegetables
Most meals include some vegetables, and it’s not uncommon to have a few leftovers. We had some red cabbage and decided to store it in a Fosa vacuum container—leaving it for five days, which is longer than we’d typically store left over veggies. The result? Still fresh, crisp and delicious.

The only downside we’ve noticed is that the Fosa containers we received aren’t microwave-safe. This means you’ll need to transfer food to another dish for reheating, which does create a bit of extra cleanup.
Conclusion
Fosa containers have proven to be highly effective and are a great addition to any home kitchen. The set we tested is especially suited for keeping fresh foods at their best for longer, and they also work well for marinating and other cold preparations.
We recommend exploring the full Fosa range—they offer specialized containers for liquids, microwave-safe options, and more, making it easy to find the right solution for your specific needs.
